Apparently there was a traffic jam leading into Beijing, China that lasted 9 days! Yahoo News said the traffic’s been so bad there recently that the highways were at a “snail’s crawl” for a month this summer without a break. Freakin’ insane.
According to MTV Iggy’s blog our tune “On the Road” is a good one for helping you get through any other 9-day traffic jams to come.

The Bottletree is one of our all-time favorite venues. The owner, Brian Tealsey (Man or Astro-Man?, Servotron, The Causey Way, Shannon Wright, The Japancakes, The Vue, Har Mar Superstar, The Polyphonic Spree, and St. Vincent) has toured a lot and knows how to treat dirty tired touring musicians. The backstage area that takes up half of the property is equipped with arcade games, 2 airstream trailers, delicious food, tvs, kickass inside and outside areas to hang and more.
We’re really looking forward to our show tonight here with Colour Revolt. It’s our last show with them for the weekend but we do another stint with CR in two weeks up the east coast.

We saw this cow and chicken hangin out next to the venue in Boise.
The owners told us they’ve been friends since the chicken was born. Pretty sweet.
If you’re wondering why there’s farm-life 5 feet from the venue keep in mind that Boise is the 100th largest city in America.
That’s kind of like being the 100th smallest city in America.
According to wikipedia Boise’s glass is half full.
We had a few hours to run around downtown Vancouver.
These guys are like the mimes of martial arts.
If you’re looking to party like you just walked out of the Schiphol Airport then head here.
If you aren’t prepared for the party just cross the street and ask for help in the park.
It’s a don’t-ask-don’t-tell policy but once you’re settled in it’s the way it should be.

After our show Saturday night w/ Les Savy Fav we went to Chinatown in Calgary where this chinese restaurant stays open to 4am. Incredible.
Jonas had the biggest oyster we’d ever seen. I think he thought it was a vagina by the way he was eating it.
Jonas got this great idea while he was looking at the menu to order pork’s blood for a table of cute barely legal (maybe not) ladies dressed up for a night on the town. He convinced our waitress to serve them the dish as a gift from him and to only tell them that it was pork. He swooned them with it until they finally asked what their gift from the gentleman across the room was. We heard one of the girls gag at the table after getting the news…
We played at the Tubby Dog in Calgary for our first day at Sled Island Fest.
The dogs are massive and amazing and Tubby’s a solid dude.
Definitely stop in if you’re ever in Calgary. It’s on 17th Ave.
They have some unusual stuff like the Sumo Dog w/ mayo, wasabi, ginger & seaweed salad & the Cap’n Dog w/ PB&J and Captain Crunch cereal!
We recommend the Classic Tubby Dog that you see up top.

We played 2 shows with Quintron at Sled Island Festival in Calgary. The first show he was with Miss Pussycat and the second night he jammed with CAVE. Both nights were insane.
If you haven’t seen Quintron you’re missing out.
He invented an instrument called the Drum Buddy that uses light to create noises and rhythms. Some notable Drum Buddy owners include Nels Cline of Wilco and Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live.

While we were hanging out at The Aquarium in Fargo we decided to kill some time playing Black Jack.
Turbo Fruits collectively lost $220.
But the profits went to charity for a local Sesame Street production so we felt pretty good about it.
If you ever put us up at your apt, house, mobile home, platform under a bridge, car patio, etc…
don’t worry because we come prepared to sleep anywhere.
We just need a little floor space and we’re good to go.
Staying fit while you’re traveling can help out a lot when you’re eating fast food, junk food and partying your ass off every night.
